Make the new space fit the existing structure
An addition is more than a new set of walls. Floor levels, roof lines, structural openings and connections to the existing house need to work together. We review these interfaces with the project drawings before defining the framing scope.
A clear addition framing scope
Depending on the design, work can include floor framing, exterior walls, interior partitions, roof framing and sheathing. Existing roof removal, masonry removal, temporary support, steel installation and weather protection are identified separately rather than assumed.
Plan access and occupied spaces
Tell us whether the home will remain occupied, how materials can reach the addition and which areas need protection. Foundation readiness, demolition by others, structural inspections and roofing handover are key coordination points.

Our Rosedale project included framing for two additions, load-bearing wall removals and levelling existing floors. Existing joists were sistered with LVLs to accommodate the project’s specified finishes.

Only the demolition listed in the written scope. Roof, masonry and interior removal responsibilities are confirmed before work starts.
